Mission:
The Show and Tell Gallery's mission is to promote collaborations between artists (loosely defined as painters, photographers, writers, sculptors, potters, dancers, actors, musicians—but, surprise me) and mediums (visual, spoken word, and performance-based.) Programs and exhibits that build community between artists are especially encouraged.

The gallery promotes the countercultural view that it is possible—even in these dark times—to bring about peace, build community, and to reject fear-based media and messages.

Submission Guidelines
Let's face it—nihilism is such a sad, old song. Instead, tell me a story about a time you were a stuck ant in an ink circle who eventually walked over the ink line. Tell me about your bumpy and safe landings. Find another artist who wants to play in the sandbox with you and show me what you make.

To submit your art for consideration for 2008 programming, please send a writing sample (limit of 3 poems or 2 pages of prose); 6-10 JPG images if your art is visual; 2-3 songs if your art is musical; or a description of your proposed event or project. Please also include contact information and a brief statement about how your work fits within the gallery's mission statement ("Countercultural collaborations between artists and mediums.")

The gallery is also my apartment inside an artspace building in Portland. A few hundred people regularly make it here on First Thursday, when exhibits are held. We can discuss the benefits and constraints of the physical space I have to offer you.
